DC vs GT Highlights: Gujarat Titans made it 2 out of 2 after comfortably beating Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets. With this win, the defending champions take the top spot of the points table. Batting first, the Delhi outfits managed to bring up 162 runs with Axar Patel playing a lovely cameo. But the target was no match for GT as Sai Sudharsan’s unbeaten knock of 62 runs was enough for the Hardik Pandya led side to wrap up all 2 points from the game.
CSK vs LSG Highlights: MS Dhoni had a happy homecoming. While he would be unhappy with how bowlers performed, it was their batting that helped Chennai Super Kings register a 12-run win over Lucknow Super Giants in their 2nd game. Despite a blazing start by Kyle Mayers and KL Rahul, LSG suffered a middle-order collapse. In the end, they fell 13-run short as they posted 205/7. But the man of the match for CSK was Ruturaj Gaikwad. The youngster smashed 31-ball 57. With Devon Conway (29-ball 47), he added 110-run opening stand. Ambati Rayudu & Shivam Dube contributed down the order, while MS Dhoni played a blazing cameo by hitting 2 sixes in 3 balls to post 217/7.
RCB vs MI Highlights: Ex-captain and current captain Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis have delivered Royal Challengers Bangalore the perfect homecoming with an 8-wicket thrashing of Mumbai Indians. Kohli smashed an unbeaten 82 while Du Plessis struck 73 as RCB chased down a 172-run target with 22 balls to spare. Earlier, Tilak Verma single-handedly rescued Mumbai Indians with a brilliant 46-ball 84 to help them post 171/7.
SRH vs RR Highlights: RR’s top 3 scored half-centuries as Rajasthan put on a competitive 203 batting first in Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) stand-in captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar has won the toss and opted to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals (RR). SRH are without Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaassen. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has named Fazalhaq Farooqi, Harry Brook, Adil Rashid and Glenn Phillips as their four foreigners. Sanju Samson will lead RR and hope to go one step further this time than the runners-up finish.
LSG vs DC Highlights: Lucknow Super Giants win by 50 runs – Mark Wood and Kyle Mayers have powered Lucknow Super Giants to a 50-run win over Delhi Capitals on Saturday. Mark Wood bagged his IPL best 5/14 to wreak DC batting line-up while Mayers set the stage with 38-ball 73. While David Warner scored a gritty half-century, Wood made the difference as DC could only manage 143/9 in 20 overs in response to LSG’s 193/6.
PBKS vs KKR Highlights: Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored a fine half-century as Punjab Kings put on a fine 191/5 batting first. Sam Curran, Prabhsimran Singh, and Shikhar Dhawan chipped in with fine cameos. For KKR, Umesh Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy put in a good show. KKR’s resistance was led by Andre Russell and Venkatesh Iyer, but Arshdeep Singh’s 3/19 and rain put paid to their run chase.
GT vs CSK Highlights – An all-round show from Rashid Khan ensured Hardik Pandya completed a hat-trick of wins over MS Dhoni as GT began their IPL 2023 campaign with a win over CSK. Chasing 179, Shubman Gill scored a fine half-century but needed some later pyrotechnics from Rashid saw them over the line. Earlier, CSK put on a competitive 178, largely thanks to Ruturaj’s scintillating 92.
IPL 2023 will include 18 doubleheaders and a total of 70 league games. There will be seven home and away games for each team. The first two home games for the Rajasthan Royals will be in Guwahati, and the following games will be played in Jaipur. The Punjab Kings will play their first five at home in Mohali before playing their final two at home in Dharamshala.
