RCB vs DC, IPL 2023: Axar Patel is going through the form of his life. The star India all-rounder is having an astounding 2023 as he is consistently saving his teams’ faces with his innings. His stroke-filled half-century on Tuesday saved an otherwise failing Delhi Capitals batting line-up in IPL 2023. He helped DC reach a total of 172 all out, which in the end hosts failed to defend against Mumbai Indians (MI). Contrastingly, DC skipper David Warner also scored a 50 but at a very slow strike-rate which in the end costed his team the match.
Axar and Warner’s 67-run partnership in just 6.2 overs on Tuesday (April 11) against the Mumbai Indians rejuvenated Delhi Capitals’ innings and helped them reach a respectable total. This was evidence of their divergent styles.

As his skipper needed 43 deliveries to reach his half-century and only offered his partner a half-look first-bump in joy, Axar raced to the same score—his first IPL fifty—in just 22 deliveries with the help of four boundaries and five sixes.

No one Asked HIM: Axar Patel on David Warner ahead of RCB vs DC
“No one has asked him (to anchor the innings),” Axar clarified later in the post-match press conference.
“Even in the last couple of games, when he has been trying to hit, it’s not been coming off. As a batsman, I don’t know what he is thinking at that moment. When Prithvi is batting, he has to anchor but after that when wickets keep falling in front of him, it’s not good to keep attacking. Even when he is trying, it’s not coming off.”
“Everyone spoke to him – Ricky (Ponting), (Shane) Watson, Dada (Sourav Ganguly). The conversation about his strike rate also came up. They looked at his videos and he’s working on it,” the all-rounder said.
