LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir was ecstatic after the thrilling win. Gambhir, who never shied away from aggression during his playing days, celebrated the win in wild style in the team dugout and silenced the RCB fans by putting his finger on his mouth.

Earlier, batting first, the RCB put up a commanding total of 212/2, with captain Faf du Plessis leading the charge with an unbeaten 79. Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell contributed with half-centuries to take the RCB to a strong position. However, despite losing 3 wickets in the powerplay, LSG mounted an impressive chase, thanks to blistering half-centuries from Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran.
The RCB had a golden opportunity to take the game to Super Over when Lucknow Super Giants lost 2 wickets in the first 5 balls. However, a couple of missed run-out chances by Harshal Patel and Dinesh Karthik cost RCB the match.
