LPL 2023 Points Table: Defending champs, Jaffna Kings picked up an easy 21-run win against Colombo Strikers in the opening match of the tournament. Batting first, the Kings amassed 173 runs which the strikers failed to chase and were bowled out after reaching 152 runs.

Jaffna look to defend their Title

As mentioned above, the previous season of LPL witnessed the Jaffna Stallions clinching the title in a thrilling final. The final match took place on 23 December 2022. The upcoming LPL 2023 is set to be an action-packed event, spanning over a period of 6 December to 23 December 2022.

The other finalists of the season, Kandy will be looking to emulate their performance from the last edition where they won 7 out of their 8 matches in the group stage competition. Meanwhile, Colombo Strikers who finished third in the table will be taking on the defending champs in the opening encounter and will look to start their tournament with a win.
