The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah, confirmed the revised schedule for the ODI series between the India and Afghanistan. The series, originally planned for June 2023, has been postponed by mutual agreement between the ACB and BCCI. Initially set to take place from June 23 to June 30, the three-match ODI series will now be held in January 2024, as announced by Jay Shah after the Apex Council meeting in Mumbai on Friday, July 7.
Shah also announced that the new media rights agreement for home bilateral cricket matches will be finalized and signed by the end of August. This deal will cover the next four years of cricket matches.
“The BCCI’s new media rights deal (for bilateral matches in India) will be in place by August-end. It will start with the eight-match series against Australia (3 ODIs before the ODI World Cup & 5 T20Is after the WC)” Shah said.

Shah also stated that the BCCI will reveal the complete coaching staff for the India women’s cricket team prior to the Asian Games 2023. Importantly, the BCCI has granted approval for the participation of both the Men’s and Women’s teams in the Asian Games 2023. This decision signifies that the BCCI will be sending teams to compete in the tournament.
“We are going to participate in the Asian Games. The Apex Council has approved the participation of our men’s and women’s teams,” Shah said.
“The BCCI will send a men’s and women’s team for the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, in September-October. Hopefully, we’ll win a gold medal in both categories,” said a senior official of the BCCI.
