With the series sealed in style, India will play the third ODI in Rajkot on Wednesday (September 27). Even without Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, & Hardik Pandya India managed to put on a dominating display with both bat and ball in hand. However, the big stars are set to return for the final ODI. With the World Cup set to begin in 10 days, Kohli, Rohit, and Pandya need game time.
Team India skipper Rohit will slot in the opening role, in place of Ruturaj Gaikwad. The CSK batter will join team members in China for the Asian Games. Kohli will likely come in place for Ishan Kishan, and Pandya will slot in place of either Prasidh Krishna or Ashwin.
Speaking about the second ODI, India beat Australia by 99 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis Method (DRS). Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill scored sparkling tons, while spin twins Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin picked three wickets each.

As the two matches panned out in Mohali and Indore, the pitch in Rajkot is also expected to be a batting belter. India have been completely dominating with the bat in hand, as the likes of Gill, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kishan are among the runs. Iyer’s form is a massive boost for India, who finally aim to fix the number 4 conundrum.

With Rohit and Kohli set to be back at the top, Iyer is set to bat at number four. However, head coach Rahul Dravid will be having a few headaches as Suryakumar Yadav is back to run-scoring ways.
The right-hand batter has scored two blazing two centuries with a strike rate over 100. Surya’s form ahead of the World Cup will be a massive boost for India. But for now, Dravid has to decide how to slot in Surya, with the likes of Rohit and Virat back.
