India will lock horns with Bangladesh (IND vs BAN) in match number 17 of the ICC Men’s World Cup today in Pune. Rohit Sharma & Co have played three games and have won all their matches against Australia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Meanwhile, Bangladesh have played three games and have only managed one victory against Afghanistan. Considering the recent form of India, they are favorites, however, the Men in Blue should be wary of the threat posed by Bangladesh.
These two teams recently met in the Asia Cup, where Bangladesh managed to win against heavyweights India. Also over the years, IND vs BAN matches have been produced entertaining cricket and close finishes. With Pune’s pitch set to aid spinners, Bangladesh would be banking on their spinners to choke India’s batters.

Pune pitch in focus
All eyes will be on the Pune surface as nobody has an idea of what to expect from the newly laid pitch. Also, India will yet again have to make a tough call between going with Shardul Thakur or Ashwin. If the pitch aids spinners, then India will play Ashwin play as the third spinner. However, if the pitch is helpful for fast bowlers, India also have an option to go with Mohammad Shami.
The pacer is yet to play a game in the World Cup, as India have preferred Thakur due to his superior batting prowess. The all-rounder though has failed to perform well in the two matches. Shami is in good form and is very lethal in the power play and in the middle phase of the innings.
